Classic and Vintage U.S. Aircraft 1945-1960 era

I have recently changed the concept of this division to include "Vintage" or "Antique" aircraft.  The reason for this is that I did not have a section for such aircraft previously, and yet I do not have a sufficient range of images to warrant creating a seperate section for them.   A bloke once asked me why I didn't have a Luscombe Phantom in the selection, and I replied that it didn't fall into the Classic (i.e. 1939 to 1960) era.  I have, therefore, now expanded this section to include aircraft from the year dot (aviation wise) to arounf 1960.
Many of the photographs in this section were taken within the era itself and these will be mainly B & W.  More recent additions will by in color. Most are from the Southern California area.  There will be only one or two images per type.  Most of them are my own photographs, but, where appropriate,will include images I received from manu-
facturers back in the 1940s and 50s.  Clearly I have many other shots, but merely want a representative sample of each type, or sub model if there were radical, or rather noticeable, changes.   Some aircraft did not reach production, or achieved very limited production, but are included since they epitomize the era.
