                                        The Ryan Sports Coupe was first flown in 1937 and was originally powered with a 150 hp
                                        Menasco inline engine.  The production machines (and Ryan only built 12) had a 145 hp
                                        Warner Super Scarab up front..  The late and great Leo Kohn saw this one at Palwaukee
                                        Airport in 1948.      Fifty years on, I took the photo of it, below, at Santa Paula Airport in
                                        Calfornia in 1998    It had just undergone a complete restoration and looked magnificent.
