VH-ALP (2) de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n DHA180)
This was the former VH-APT which was withdrawn from
service in 1962. It was rebuilt in
1981 by Keith Ginman (a Qantas LAME at the time) and
given the second iteration of -ALP
when re-registered in 1983,
the marking -APT having been allocated in the meantime to a
Cherokee. The above shot is from the John Hopton
collection and depicts the restored Tiger
at Morwell, Victoria in
1984. VH-ALP is no longer current, although is, I believe, merely
awaiting an inspection for re-registration (as
of 2009).
