SNCASE Sud Est SE3101
Sud-Est's
second rotary wing aircraft was the SE3101, a somewhat more simplified
concept
than the
twin-rotor SE3000. This
shot is interesting if only for all the
Stampes on the ground!
Either an air
show of some sort, or perhaps the
actual first flight of the SE 3101 on June 15,
1948.
This aircraft was loosely based on another of Heinrich Focke's designs,
the Focke Wulf
Fw 61. I
am not sure if either of these preliminary designs had civil or
military ID. In any case,
there wasn't much
side area in which to paint anything
on the above craft!
The pilot in this shot
was
probably Jean Boulet.
