                                       The M.B.2 was a private venture fighter design, developed from the earlier M.B.1 and submitted
                                        in response to Air Ministry Spec F5/34.   Its note to fame was simplicity of design and accessibility.
                                        In the event the RAF were less than suitably impressed, despite the fact that the machine had a per-
                                        formance comparable to many other fighters of the time. The aircraft wound up for a while with the
                                        Air Fighting Development Unit (AFDU) at Northolt before being returned to Martin-Bakers in 1939.
                                        No further flights or development was done, the company concentrating on the M.B.3 and M.B.5
