SE-BBA Douglas DC-4-1009
(c/n 42905)
In
1946 Svensk Interkontinetal Lufttrafik AB (SILA), the Swedish
international airline company
which, in essence, was the holding
company for AB Aerotransport (Swedish Air Lines) ordered
a fleet of six brand new DC-4s from
Douglas. SE-BBA, the first, was delivered in April of that
year. It is seen in the
nice ABA shot above climbing out of Stockholm's Bromma Airport.
After
being absorbed in the SAS fleet in 1948
it was sold to Avianca in 1953 as HK-173.
