PH-ALR Douglas DC-3-G2
(c/n 1939)
PH-ALR "Reiger"
was a Santa Monica built (vs Fokker-built) DC-3 delivered to KLM in
April 1937. It escaped to England just before the
Nazi invasion and became G-AGBC. It
was used in the early days of WW II on
runs from Whitchurch to Lisbon and Gibraltar.
G-AGBC was written
off in a crash at Heston in September 1940 while landing in dense fog.
