OY-DYS Focke-Wulf Fw 58C Weihe
(c/n 3105)
The FW 58 was a multi purpose twin engine trainer built in
1935. A six passenger commuter
airliner variant, the Fw 58C was produced in 1938 of which the above
sample, seen in the DDL
photo above, was acquired by Gunnar Larsen in Denmark, and leased to
DDL very briefly in
November and December of 1938. It was used on the Copenhagen to
Rønne route. Follow-
ing the German occupation of Denmark in 1940 it was absorbed by the
Luftwaffe as a trainer
and was last sighted as a wreck at Karup in 1945.
Note large "neutral country" script on the
fuselage roof.
