OO-TIC Avions Fairey
(Tipsy)
Belfair
(c/n 533)
OO-TIC was the last Belfair built in Belgium and received kudos when it
achieved (at the
time) the World
distance record for FAI Class 1a (under 500 kg) on the 945 km flight
from
Brussels to Biarritz on 21 August 1950. . The titling on the
fuselage records this event.
It (OO-TIC) later beat that record in 1955 with a whopping flight of
2635 km. First
flown in October 1947, OO-TIC was withdrawn from use in 1964.
