OO-AGC
Westland
IV
(c/n 1897)
In 1930 Sabena ordered four of these small airliners for "feeder"
routes. OO-AGC was to have
been VP-KAD for Wilson Airways of Nairobi. However,
like its sister ship OO-AGD, which
was to have
gone to Australia, the performance of the original 95 h.p.Cirrus III
engined aircraft
was found to be lacking (especially for the hot African and Australian
climates) and the contracts
were
cancelled. Instead, the aircraft were re-engined and acquired by
Sabena.
. The diminutive
airliners were
used by
the airline until the 1935 when they were sold back to the U.K., OO-AGC
becoming G-ABAJ.
