OK-AIB Douglas
DC-2-115K
(c/n 1582)
In 1936 CLS acquired four Fokker-built DC-2s. Well five,
actually, since the first one,
OK-AIA (c/n 1581) crashed on 30 April 1936.when it ran out of fuel on
the inaugural
Prague to Amsterdam flight. It was replaced with
another OK-AIA, c/n 1564.
OK-AIB, the second one, seen here arriving at Prague in 1937 was
impressed into
service
(well stolen, actually) by Lufthansa when the Nazis overran
Czechoslovakia in 1938.
It
became, conveniently, D-AAIB. It was disposed of, in some way
(sold?) to Aero O/Y
in
Finland as OH-DLA. Later re-registered OH-LDA, it
passed to the Finish Air Force
in 1949
when it received the serial DO-2.
