OH-BLA de Havilland D.H.89a Dragon
Rapide
(c/n 6347)
In 1837 Aero O/Y acquired a couple of Dragon Rapide (-BLA and -BLB) for
internal Finland
services on a somewhat experimental basis. In the event, both
machines were later used as air
ambulances. OH-BLA was impressed into military service during the
war, and then reregistered
OH-VKH in 1946
when relinquished to Karhumaki Airways. In 1955 it was sold in
Denmark
as OY-DAS and later, in 1957, went to West Germany as D-IGEL. It
was scrapped in 1972.
