I-DOGI Convair 340-41
(c/n 63)
I-DOGI was the
first of three Convair 340s acquired by Alitalia in 1953.
They were part of
a batch
originally built for Northeast Airlines but not taken up.
All three were later converted
to CVAC 440
standard to join three purpose built machines of that
marque. All six were
disposed
of when the Viscounts were delivered. This one came back to
the US, first as
N3756Z, and then as N138CA for
Cosmopolitan Airlines.
