                                    The Avro 504N was the successor to the highly successful 504K, and differed from that aircraft
                                    mainly in the elimination of the central landing skid under the main wheels.  Power plant of the
                                    504N was the 160 h.p. Armstrong Siddeley Lynx IV, giving rise to the unofficial name of this
                                    machine as the Lynx Trainer.   504Ns were widely used by the air forces of the world as training
                                    aircraft.  Several, such as the one above, made their way onto the UK civil register.  In fact, at the
                                    outbreak of WW II, seven were impressed back into RAF service.
