G-EARV  Westland Limousine III                                  (c/n WAC.8)

                                     

                                     The Westland Limousine was an post-WW I four to five seat airliner.    In addition to the
                                     prototype, mark I,. five Limousine IIs and two Limousine IIIs were produced.  The Instone
                                     Air Line Co flew a couple of them in 1920 on a service from London to Brussels and London
                                     to Paris.  G-EARV seen above in this Westland  Aircraft photo was shipped to Newfoundland
                                     in April 1921 and registered G-CAET.  It was operated by the Aerial Survey Co on seal and
                                     fishery spotting, and was one of the first civil aircraft to be fitted with skis in the winter.
                                     It later went to Laurentide Air Sevice of Montreal and was scrapped in 1923 due to wood
                                     rot.
