F-BAZJ
Lockheed L-749 Constellation
(c/n 2514)
Not ordinarily visitors to London's Heathrow (at
least initially), this Connie was photographed
there by Rod Brown in
the mid 1950s., I suspect, at the time, they had replaced the
Languedocs
and DC-4s on
Air France's routes to Nice and Marseilles after the 1049-Gs had taken
over the
North Atlantic
operation. F-BAZJ, named 'Vincent
Auriol' was withdrawn from use and stored
at Toulouse in 1969
having served its latter days with the SGAC.
