EI-AAD Dessouter II
(c/n D.30)
The Dessouter was the
Koolhoven F.K.41 built under license in the U.K. by Marcel Dessouter
at Croyden in the
early 1930s. Some 28 Mk. 1s and 13 Mk IIs were manufactured
(oddly, only
six original F.K.41s
were built in Holland). The 30th production aircraft, seen above
in this image
from
Melbourne's Civil Aviation Historical Society archives showing the
aircraft when owned by
Iona
National Air Taxis. It was later repatriated back to the U.K. at end
end of 1931 as G-ABOM
and flown from Heston Aerodrome to Sydney, arriving in February 1932.,
In Oz it was re-registered
VH-UEE in March 1932 and was
owned by L. Mackenzie-Johnson who operated in on an air service
from
Launceston to Flinders Island.
