Aviacion y Comercio, S.A. generally known as AVIACO, was a
Spanish airline which was
formed in 1948 and organized its routes to those areas not covered by
the national airline
Iberia. It lasted until 1999 when it was merged into that latter
airline. Early services were
intra-Spain (Madrid - Barcelona - Bilboa), but international flights
soon followed to North
Africa
and the Canary Islands. Nine ex-Air France
Languedocs were operated between
1956 and 1962,
although only five were on inventory at any one time due to crashes,
selling
off,
etc. . EC-AMH was the former F-BCUS. It was probably
scrapped in the 1960s.
