YV-C-EVA  Convair 340-57                                (c/n  139)

Aerovias Venezolanas S.A. was founded in 1943 as a direct competitor to the state airline
LAV.  It was heavily underwritten by Pan American as is evidenced in the Pan Am like livery
which adorned the aircraft of that period.    A fleet of five Convairliners was acquired in 1953
to augment the DC-3s and DC-4s.  Two more used ones were added later.  YV-C-EVA was
the first and was delivered in December of 1953.    It was later re-registered YV-60C when
Venezuela changed its format.  In 1977 it was sold to Rutas Aereas C.A. as YV-224C
