PP-LEQ   Douglas DC-4                                                (c/n 10544)

DC-4s were not widely used in Brazil.  In fact Loide Aereo probably operated the largest fleet,
some 10 in all.   They came from a variety of former US carriers, this one quite obviously being
ex-United Airlines.  It was, in fact, UAL's N30058 'Mainliner Ohio River'. Loide acquired it
in 1957.  PP-LEQ crashed into Maraso Bay, Belem on December 8, 1958.   The cause of the
                                        accident was never established.
