                                  Nice shot of an Air-India International DC-3 from the Air India Collector collection.    Created
                                  soon after WW II, Air-India became Air-India International for a while in the late 1940s, before
                                  being changed back again to simply Air-India.   The 'international' portion of the airline flew
                                  flights to East Africa in the early days, to provide service for the large number of expatriate
                                  Indians living there.  . International services further abroad were not carried out until the airline
                                  received its Lockheed 049 Constellations in 1948. .
                                  VT-CGP was the former RAF Dakota III KG524, civilianized in October 1946 to Kalinga
                                  Air Lines.  It went to Air-India in 1948, and was then impressed back into service again in
                                  January 1965 when it joined the Indian Air Force as BJ623.    Fate unknown.
