VT-AIE  de Havilland D.H.90 Dragonfly                              (c/n 7545)

The dainty and rather exquisite looking (but deadly during take-off and landing*) Dragonfly.
Sixty seven of these light airliner/executive aircraft were built in 1936/37.  They were rather
expensive as private owner types and VT-AIE was owned by HH The Maharajah Sir Yash-
want Rao of Indore, to whom, apparently, money was no object.     It is seen above in this
shot by de Haviilands.          It was impressed into the RAF during WW II as HX792, and
canceled as an asset in January 1946..

The Dragonfly was notorious for ground looping during both landing and take-off.
Several underwent major undercarriage repairs during their lifetimes.
