VR-HDI  Douglas DC-3                                          (c/n  19904)

                                 

                                     Cathay Pacific Airways was conceived immediately after WW II by several American and Australian
                                     entrepreneurs ostensibly to provide an air service between the colony of Hong Kong and Australia.
                                     An initial DC-3 (VR-HDB was acquired and this was soon augmented by several more (10 in all) of
                                     which VR-HDI above was one.  This C-47A-DL had previously been operated by Philippine Airlines
                                     as PI-C24.  It was sold in 1951 to Queensland Airlines as VH-AAU, and then to Far East Air Trans-
                                     port in Taiwan as B-247 in 1967.
