VQ-PAU de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger
Moth
(c/n DHC1653)
This shot from the Kruger Zoltan collection is interesting in that it
shows, in the background,
the Taylorcraft BC VQ-PAI and, behind the Tiger's nose, another
Taylorcraft, possibly
VQ-PAJ and, in the far diatonic, another Tiger, possibly VQ-PAT.
I would guess that
the photograph was taken in early 1948, judging by the (at least) six
ships anchored off
shore. VQ-PAT and -PAU
were both imported from Canada in 1947. -PAU, above
was the RCAF's
8851 and civilianized as CF-CTB. The aircraft were part of the
Aviron
Flying School fleet, all of which were later impressed into the
fledgling Israeli Air Force.
