TC-SEC Vickers 794 Viscount
(c/n 246)
TC-SEC, seen here in these images from the Jerry
Elmas collection, was the
first of five Viscounts
flown by Turkey's
state airline,
THY. Delivered in 1958, they were all taken over
by the Turkish Air
Force when their civilian
airliner days were done,
in 1971/72. They were
given serials matching their
c/ns, this one
becoming "246". Seen immediately below is a manufacturer's
shot showing the original
Turkish Flag' tail, and
fuselage side registration, livery. This scheme was somewhat
short-lived and
replaced
with the markings seen above and also in the color shot at the foot of
the page.
