TC-KOC Fairchild
F.27 Friendship
(c/n
81)
THY operated ten Friendships. Five were built
by Fairchild and five by the parent Fokker.
Both versions were delivered more or less
simultaneously. TC-KOC was the first of the
Fairchild variety and, in fact,
the first Friendship operated by the airline. It was
seriously
damaged in an accident at
Instanbul on 10 May 1973 and basically traded-in to Fokkers on
a F-28
Fellowship. Jerry Elmas' two shots show it (above) in
latter-day livery and (below)
in earlier (Turkish flag) markings.
