CR-LEP  Fokker F.27 Friendship                             (c/n  10208)

                                

                                        In 1962 DTA decided to replace its DC-3s with the F.27 Friendship as did many other airlines.
                                        Two were initially delivered and at that time augmented the seven DC-3s, which were still
                                        flying long into Angola's independence, many being re-registered D2-     CR-LEP was the
                                        2nd Friendship delivered and is seen above at Benguela Airport in 1965 in this nice shot by                                    
                                        Pedro Aragão    Eventually seven Friendships were acquired by DTA serving both local
                                        stations and also to Windhoek, Brazzaville, Kinshasa, Pointe-Noir and San Sao Tome.
                                        CR-LEP was absorbed into TAAG Angola in 1973 and re-registered D2-LEP.  It wound
                                        up with 9Q-CEB into what was then Zaire and was eventually broken up at N'Dola in
                                        Zambia in 1982.
