Bellanca 8KCAB Super
Decathlon N5408G
(c/n 517-79)
The Decathlon series of purpose
designed aerobatic aircraft was developed by Bellanca from the
earlier Citabria. It differs mainly in having a lower aspect
ratio wing, allowing more exacting (and
exciting!) aerobatics. The "Super" model had the Avco Lycoming
AEIO-360-H1A flat four engine
with the constant speed prop. This 1979 model dropped into
Horizon Airport, Henderson, Nevada
(actually
South Las Vegas) one day in 1988.
