National Airlines System Stinson U
Tri-Motor NC432M (c/n 9000)
Two
views of the same aircraft. The above shot is more authentic (or,
shall we say, a little less
touched
up). NC432M was actually the prototype of the Stinson
U. This model was an enhance-
ment of the earlier
Stinson SM-6000-B, commonly known as the Stinson Model T Tri-motor.
The model U was a
newer, faster, larger edition and was initially operated by Century and
Century-
Pacific
Airlines. With the acquition of several of these larger
airliners, National extended service
from Daytona
Beach south to Miami. They were later to relocate their
headquaters to Jacksonville.
