                                   Mamer Air Transport was formed in April 1929 by pioneer aviator and barnstormer Nick Mamer
                                  using a modest fleet of five Buhl Airsedans..  Originally it partnered with the Great Northern Railroad
                                  which plied from Spokane to Seattle and with the Chicago and Northwestern between Chicago and
                                  St. Paul.. Mamer flew "the gap" between Spokane and the Twin Cities, using timetables allowing
                                  easy access between air and rail services.  Later Mamer acquired Ford Tri-motors (see next entry)..                                    .
