Mamer Air Transport Ford 4-AT-E NC9612
(c/n 4-AT-55)
In
March 1929 Mamer acquired at least two Ford Trimotors to augment the
fleet of Buhl
Airsedans The inital craft was NC9612, and was named "West
Wind". With the Fords,
the route was expanded to Seattle and Portland from Spokane.
Unfortunately Nick Mamer
was unable to secure an air mail contract, a must to make a profit in
those days, and
consequently he sold the
line to Northwest
Airways. (He flew the first Northwest service
from Sprokane to
Seattlky huimself, via an
arrangment made with the larger airline).
Below is the logo of the short-lived airline.
