Florida Airlines Ford
5-AT-C
NC420H
(c/n 80)
Florida Airlines was a (very) short lived airline which ran a scheduled
service Jacksonville-
Tampa-Sarasota from January to March 1937. The old Ford had originally
been delivered
to National Air
Transport, then became part of the United Air Lines fleet, and passing
to
Hanfords
Tri-State airline in 1934. Clearly was no match for
National Air Lines' sleek
Lockheed 10A Electras which were also servicing these cities.
Consequently NC420H
(probably its
only aircraft) was sold off to a broker and eventually wound up in
Columbia
for an oil
company in 1939.
