VH-UTI British
Klemm BK.1 Eagle II (c/n 109)
I shot this photograph of
VH-UTI
whilst it was undergoing maintenance in Illawarra's hangar at
Bankstown in 1952. At
that time it was owned by Griffith Aero Club. The shot below
is
from
the Civil
Aviation
Historical Society of South Australia archives and was taken at
Parafield,
probably
pre-war, whilst the nice contemporary shot at the foot of the page
was taken by Phil
Vabre
at the 2013 AAAA Fly-in at Echuca. . This Eagle is one of the
aircraft which
was in the
late
lamented Wangaratta Museum.
It is now
privately owned and was rebuilt
using parts
gleaned from VH-UUY.
When
my
photo above was taken it wore
a cream
paint job with
red trim and
registration. Note Redex 'Round
Australia Car Rally Proctor in back.
