VH-UZT de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger
Moth
(c/n 3632)
Until some contibutor can oblige me with a better
image, I'll offer up this cropped photograph of
the Tiger -UZT
as being in the "better than nothing" category The
occassion for this photo was
the first landing at
Braefiled aerodrome (south of Quirindi?) the day before it was
officially opened
on 3 November
1939. Were the ladies relatives of the intrepid airmen?
This Tiger had been
delivered new
to the Newcastle Aero Club in 1938. By July 1940 it was
flying in the RAAF as
A17-677. Post war it was acquired by A.L.D.
Carter of Tamworth, NSW and then sold to
East West Airlines'
who sold it on to Air-Agricultural Control in 1949. In November
1950 it
was re-registered in
Air-Agricultures series as VH-PCF.
