VH-UXC was an Australian built Tiger Moth and is seen here new outside the de Havilland of Australia
plant in NSW just prior to its delivery to the Whyalla Aero Club in South Australia. This machine was
impressed into the RAAF during the war as A17-22. Upon its release from military duties in 1946 it
became part of the Royal Queensland Aero Club fleet. The image below shows the aircraft with RQAC
stripes on the rudder. Unfortunately, after only six months with that club it was destroyed by fire in a
crash at Maryborough, Queensland.
