VH-UVZ de
Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n 3508)
This interesting shot shows a
pre-WW II Tiger over Sydney (looking towards Woolloomooloo) circa
the mid to late 1940s. It was operated, at the time, by
Airflite (Training) Ltd of Mascot. The image
immediately below, courtesy of the John Oxley Library, State Library of
Queensland collection shows
it at about the same time (circa
1940). -UVZ was first
imported in August of 1936 for Airflite, Ltd.
It was impressed during the war as
A17-691. After its registration
lapsed in 1946, it was restored to
the register as
VH-BBP. It has now reverted to its original
registration. Phil Vabre provides a
nice
contemporary shot of it (bottom of page) taken at the AAAA Fly-In,
Narrandera, 2006.
