II
(c/n 6106)
This is an enlargement from a
small print from the Horrie Miller Collection, via the National
Library of Australia. VH-UVN was
one of five D.H.84 Dragons operated by MacRobertson
Miller Aviation from 1934 until the outbreak of WW
II. -UVN was used by Horrie Miller
and Geoff Gregory, aviation officer for the Vacuum Oil Co. to survey
the north-west air route
from Perth to Broome. It is seen in this photo taking shelter
from the fierce W.A. sun at Ord
River Station, circa 1936. The Dragon had been purchased from
W.S. Shackleton in June 1936
and was ex G-AEFX. It was written off
when it crashed and burned near Broome, WA on
7
January 1942.
