VH-UUL de Havilland D.H.85 Leopard Moth
(c/n 7111)
VH-UUL has been on the register since 1935. However,
it was either "off register" during "my era"
or based outside of
Victoria, for I never saw it. It was a participant in the
1964
R.M. Ansett Air
Race and Geoff Goodall took the
above shot of it at Parafield in March of that year, following the
race. The shot
immediately below, from the CAHS archives, shows it at Point Cook in
1971.
The color shot # 3 was
taken by Barry Maclean at Point Cook in the 1970s. It is
currently owned
by Bill Finlen and joins
his Gypsy Moth VH-UMK (ex VH-UMR) and Tiger Moth VH-UYE at
Boonah airfield.
Ross Stenhouse took the shot at the foot of the page there in September
2015
along with the
delight ful image of the cockpit.
