VH-USK  de Havilland D.H.85 Leopard Moth            (c/n  7084)

                                    
                              
                                         VH-USK was imported in December 1934 for J.J. Thorpe of Armadale, WA.  In 1937 it went
                                         to Queensland. and was owned by the Beresford family of Cunnamulla during and immediately
                                         after WW II.  It crashed in September 1950 at Cunnamulla, and was ostensibly "written off".
                                         The above image is from the Frank Walters collection.  In the event a superb restoration was
                                         done by Nick and Greg Challinor's Mothcair Aviation  using parts (and carefully patterned
                                         reworked wood sections) from the original -USK  Seen below is a shot by Nev French
                                        (via Grahame Higgs) at Murwillumbah in May 2009.  It is currently resident at Redcliffe, Qld..
