VH-UOY de Havilland D.H.75A Hawk
Moth (c/n 706)
The two photographs on this page are from the John
Oxley Library, State
Library
of Queensland
collection. This Hawk Moth was owned by Aircrafts Pty Ltd of
Brisbane from
the time it was first registered in September 1930 until it was written
off in a crash at
Archerfield whilst making a forced landing there on 12 May 1935.
The print above
was signed by E.J. Brunckhurst who went on to become Chief
Maintenance Engineer
for TAA in 1953. I suspect he was chief mechanic for Air-
crafts
Pty Ltd when that photograph was taken. I am not sure when or
where the
shot below was
taken. It appears that the rego has disappeared from the fuselage.
It could
pre-date the shot above, although is more like an early 1930s image.
