VH-UOS General Aircraft
Genairco
(c/n 19)
This shot was taken in New Caledonia, circa 1931 after the
aircraft had been exported there. It was
built at Mascot in 1930 with an unusual Siemens-Halske
engine, and was acquired the following year
by M. Rolland, a
French national and shipped to Noumea. It flew there for a
short
time until it was
wrecked at
Koumac, New Caledonia on 14 January 1932. The aircraft was never
registered either
in France or the French
colonies. The reason for the air force style markings is not
known. Two rare
shots: Above,
from the Geoff
Goodall collection, and below via the CAHS archives. .
