VH-UJX de
Havilland D.H.60G Gipsy Moth
(c/n 838)
Rough image of a
Royal Aero Club of WA Moth outside their hangar at Maylands, Perth,
circa 1936. (Photo from the Geoff
Goodall collection). This early Gipsy Moth, first regis-
tered to
Commercial Aviation Co of Parafield, SA in January 1929, (the
holding company
for MacRobertson
Miller Aviation) was sold to the Perth Aero Club in 1935.
It was later
sold by the club to private owners in
NSW and then impressed into RAAF service in 1940
as A7-76.
I believe it was only used as an instructional airframe and was
reduced to spares
by the end of WW II.
