VH-UHQ  de Havilland D.H.60G Gipsy Moth               (c/n  878)

                                  

                                       The CofA photograph above is via the John Hopton collection, and was taken at Mascot circa
                                       1932, while the poor image below shows the Moth in company with the Puss Moth VH-UQK.  
                                        In the latter the Gipsy Moth was accompanying Broadbent and Maguire at the start of an epic
`                                      Australia-England flight made in October of 1935.  This Moth was one of several which made up
                                       the nucleus of the Australian Aero Club (NSW Section) in the early 1930s.  It became part of the
                                       Royal Aero Club of NSW fleet in July 1937.   It was destroyed in a crash landing at Wagga, NSW
                                       in December 1939, but rebuilt by the RACNSW as VH-AAQ .
