VH-UAT de Havilland D.H.60 Moth
(c/n 368)
This grainy, creased shot came off the
CofA. It was probably taken as late as 1936/7, however,
since it
is wearing Royal Victorian Aero Club tail stripes. This
Moth first went to the Victorian
Section of the Australian Aero Club in 1928 and remained with them and
the subsequent RVAC
until the end of 1937 when it was traded back in to de Havilland
Aircraft Pty Ltd. It then had a
couple
of private owners in NSW and was registered to H. W. Crome in 1942.
It was not
impressed into
RAAF service during WW II, survived the war, but was burned in a fire
on 4 June
1946. It did not a current CofA at that time.
