G-AUGL de
Havilland D.H.60X
Moth
(c/n 407 -DHA.6)
G-AUGL was the sixth D.H.60 assembled by de Havilland Aircraft Pty Ltd
of South Melbourne.
I suspect that this Royal Aeronautical Society photo was taken at that
locale. -UGL was first
registered in October 1927 and sold to Hammond Aerial Transport
Ltd of Sydney. Its life was
short-lived, however,
inasmuch as on 22 August 1928 it crashed on
final approach to Coona-
barabran, NSW, whilst on a cargo flight from Sydney-Mascot.
The resultant fire effectively
wrote the aircraft off. Both occupants were injured. .
