G-AUGL  de Havilland D.H.60X Moth                                   (c/n  407 -DHA.6)

                             

                                G-AUGL was the sixth D.H.60 assembled by de Havilland Aircraft Pty Ltd of South Melbourne.
                                 I suspect that this Royal Aeronautical Society photo was taken at that locale.     -UGL was first
                                 registered in October 1927 and sold to Hammond Aerial Transport Ltd  of Sydney.  Its life was
                                short-lived, however, inasmuch as on 22 August 1928 it crashed on  final approach to Coona-
                                barabran,  NSW, whilst on a cargo flight from Sydney-Mascot.  The resultant fire effectively
                                wrote the aircraft off.  Both occupants were injured.  .
