G-AUEY de Havilland
D.H.50
(c/n 73)
The above shot is a close
up of a larger panorama (reproduced below) from the family album of
Patrick Fels. It
was probably taken at Langley Park, near Perth, circa 1928
G-AUEY was
registered to WA Airways Ltd. of Perth on 13 April 1926, and was
actually the
D.H.50 prototype
(formerly G-EBFN), powered
by a 230 hp Siddeley Puma.
The two photos (3 and 4) show the
D.H.
50 as G-EBFN in England. The upper one is from the Frank Walters
collection (via Geoff
Goodall) whilst the one at the foot of the page from my own collection
shows it at Stag Lane in 1925.
It changed from G-AUEY to VH-UEY somewhere around 1931 and was
withdrawn from use
in
1933 although
not officially stricken from the register until 9
April 1935.
