Piper PA-30-160 Twin Comanche
B
(c/n 30-1034)
This Twin Comanche was first
registered to Australian and American Development Co of Wee
Waa,
NSW in December 1968, hence the 'WW' rego. This company
promoted local cotton
farming. However, by
the time the above shot, from the Geoff Goodall collection, was taken at
Perth Airport in December 1970 the aircraft had passed to Perth charter
operator Murchison
Air Services. The tail
is emblazoned with Murchison's distinctive red tail with Southern Cross
stars.
This Twin Comanche met a tragic end when it collided in mid-air with
DH.104 Dove VH-WST
near
Bankstown Airport on 13 March 1974.
