VH-WET
(1) de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
)c/n LES.9)
Here's an evocative shot
from the Ben Dannecker collection showing a line up of Tigers, headed
by VH-WET at Cootamundra in the heyday of ag
Tiger operations, circa 1960. These machines
comprised most of the
DH82A fleet of Airland Improvements Pty Ltd at the time. Note
props all
aligned for the photo op! VH-WET was a
Lawrence Engineering & Sales (Camden, NSW) built
Tiger. It was
re-registered VH-BUG in July 1961,
and was ultimately damaged in a storm at Wee
Waa, NSW on 14 November 1974.
From the mid 1960s on, the registration VH-WET was
normally assigned top some
sort of aquatic aircraft.
