VH-UBU Cessna 207
Skywagon
(c/n 207-0119)
VH-UBU was one of half a dozen 207s registered to Rex Aviation in early
1970. David Carter
photographed it at Bankstown soon after it was registered in April of
that year. On 22 March,
1972, it suffered a minor accident at Trefoil Island, Tasmania when a
gust of wind on take-off
lifted one wing and
ended on its nose. It was quickly repaired and
back on the register in
December that
year. In the mid 1970s it was owned by Barrier
Air at Broken Hill which
continued to operate it into
the 1980s. –UBU was sold in New Zealand in August
1994 as
ZK-UBU. In September 2011 it was flown to Vanuatu where
it became YJ-ASH with Air
Taxi Vanuatu.
