VH-TSA (1) de
Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n DHA996)
Still; wearing
Illawarra Flying School's tail stripes from the days when it was VH-FAH(1), this Tiger
had
passed to D.A. Long's Tigerspread (based at Wagga) in February 1956
when this shot, from the
Dave Freeman
collection was taken at Bankstown. It was
wrecked at Wagga on 20 March 1957
when it
struck a tree on a ridge while engaged in low level
dusting. Its mortal remains reappeared
30 years
on as a restoration project, much of it going to create VH-LJM whose c/n is given as 996.
